I have made a promise to my family that we would listen to more worship music throughout the day. What fun to play some toe-tapping music that praises our God? It sure does make getting in a bad mood a bit more difficult and sometimes brothers need all the help they can get.
If you’re trying to break up sibling frustration, a gloomy day, or just get your children moving - pop in a Kid’s Worship CD and enjoy an afternoon dance party. Play worship music before your children leave for school.
My favorite children’s music has been Yancy and Seeds Family Worship. You do not have to play the kiddie versions all the time. My 8 yr old has his own collection of worship cds he plays in his room, from Mercy Me to Hillsong United.
Play More Worship Music
Lacking worship cds or a cd player? Go online to a Christian radio station, like the one here in Orlando (z88.3), and “Listen Now”. Keep the music on low all day. I can’t help but cry a bit when I hear my children randomly singing worship. It’s beautiful at church, but I think even better when it’s unscripted and just a natural reaction.
If your children are learning to play an instrument encourage them to learn some worship music. You can download a piano app to an idevice. Or you can join me as I search YouTube “how to play Oceans” and tap your way to playing it yourself.
“Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.” Psalm 149:1
