Daisy and Ozric are located in the United Kingdom. They are strong believers in slow fashion, a term which describes our battle against consumerism in the fashion industry.
The idea encourages consumers to slow down and make more conscious consumption decisions by asking a few simple questions.
Where is the product made?
Who made the product, and are they being treated fairly?
What environmental impact has it had?
How durable is it?
Is the product part of a micro trend limiting its usage?
Are you buying from a reputable company?
Their ethos is complete transparency. They have spent several years working at most of the UK's major music festivals, working various roles associated with managing the site’s waste. The experience really opened their eyes to the reality of our disposable lifestyles. We were shocked to see at the end of each event, the amount of tents, wellies, clothes, camping equipment and waste that was just left for landfill!
During the winter Daisy and Ozric travel in search of inspiration. With the shock of the festivals still in our mind they came across a couple of brothers named Manish and Pinu in India.
At the time they met, the brothers where already creating incredible things from recycled materials. Daisy and Ozric were completely blown away by their work. Soon, they began to collaborate with Manish and Pinu with Daisy’s own range of recycled leather bag creations. The idea behind the range was to create something that wouldn't cost the earth, and also live a long life. They use timeless styles and hard wearing materials in a protest against synthetic and disposable fashion. Daisy and Ozric visit with Manish and Pinu in person every year.
